When I was a child my parents made great sacrifices to ensure that my brothers and I received an excellent education. My father, a man always wise beyond his years, believed in family and the required basic necessities of being able to read and write. My mother spent countless hours with me and my 'speller', having me enunciate the word, spell it properly, and pronounce it again. Eventually she incorporated things like having me use the word in a sentence to show I knew the proper meaning and use. As I got older I saw the value in reading and writing. Dad often told me that 'if you can read, you can teach yourself to do anything." My parents and teachers gave me a gift that I remain inspired to share with others. Reading is a gateway to advancement in life. I hope that my writing opens the imaginations of everyone that reads the stories I present and hones their reading skills. To my Mom and Dad, I miss you both. To my children, please never give up on your dreams. To my fans, thank you for your kindness, you are my inspiration.
